Lev Chana students are very busy making projects for Sukkos. They’re very proud of the decorations and flags they’re working on and can’t wait to bring them home!

Lev Chana was thrilled to welcome back farmer Shoshi Ehrenreich from Grow Torah. Children love working in the garden and learning Torah and brachos while growing flowers and vegetables. Over the summer, Farmer Shoshi harvested vegetables and herbs from the Lev Chana garden and brought them to the Hewlett Food Bank. Last week, Lev Chana children had the chance to pick their own vegetables and make the brachah before eating them fresh from the vine! 

Shevach High School brought in Aseres Y’mei T’shuvah with an inspiring and motivating yom iyun. Mrs. Shulamith Insel, Menaheles, opened the program by stressing that during the Yamim Nora’im, Hashem is not only our Judge, but He is our greatest Advocate as well. “Melech Chafetz BaChayim” – He wants us to merit life. He wants us to succeed.

This SINAI@YCQ student designed his own shofar, with a holiday message written on the outside, in lieu of a traditional Rosh HaShanah card!

Middle School STEM is off to a great start this year! Sixth graders learned about LEDs and made their own glow sticks. They were also challenged to build a tower of spaghetti that could hold a marshmallow on top. The tallest tower wins! In seventh grade, students had to design and build a case using minimal materials that would protect a balloon from popping when dropped from a high window. Looks like we have some future engineers here at HALB!

YSZ had the great z'chut of greeting HaRav HaGaon Nissim Ben Shimon Shlit"a recently. He is a renowned talmid chacham, mekubal, Rosh Av Bet Din of Tel Aviv, and member of the Moetzet Chachmei Torah.
