As the number of Holocaust survivors continues to dwindle, each passing represents the loss of another living witness to history. Behind every survivor is a story of unimaginable hardship, resilience, and courage. While some stories were carefully preserved for future generations, others faded quietly with time. Sarah Turner’s is one of those stories—known today only through fragments, yet powerful enough to inspire an entire community to ensure that her final wish would not be forgotten.

On Thursday night, June 25, the community gathered at the Young Israel of Hillcrest for a special shiur hosted by Chazaq on the topic of finding one’s match. Robbie Aboff welcomed the crowd and introduced the evening’s speaker, Rabbi Yisrael Yakubov, a well-known lecturer who traveled from Toronto to Queens to share valuable ideas on how to find one’s zivug.

On Sunday evening, June 7, community members gathered at the Young Israel of Briarwood to celebrate a siyum on Maseches Moed Katan. The evening carried a special feeling, with fathers and sons sitting together and proud wives and mothers seated behind the m’chitzah.

On Tuesday evening, May 19, the community members gathered at the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills for an inspiring program featuring the well-known speaker, Rabbi Joey Haber. Hosted by Chazaq, Ohel, and Project Inspire, the event was dedicated in memory of Mr. Jack Friedman z”l by his family. The evening also served as the official introduction to Ohel’s new clinic in the heart of Queens.
