The brains of Bnos Malka Academy’s middle schoolers are in high gear as the girls prove that they are not easily outsmarted! This year, BMA’s middle school introduced an interactive Puzzle of the Week bulletin board, which features a weekly brain game. The brain puzzles include a large variety of intriguing challenges, inviting students to employ math skills, logical thinking, deductive reasoning, and creativity for a chance to win the weekly raffle.

In honor of Tu BiSh’vat, a fruit juice box drink was distributed to every Yeshiva Tiferes Moshe talmid, courtesy of the Parents Association. Additionally, the boys in Rabbi Kiffel’s first grade class were greeted to a completely rearranged classroom, with the desks set up in the shape of a ches, and an impressive buffet table in the middle.

On Monday, January 29, all of the YCQ kindergarten students received their very own “starter siddurs.” This siddur is an introduction to t’filah readiness skills they will need when receiving their first siddur in Kitah Alef. The siddur will follow them into first grade and help with the transition to the use of a real siddur.

Before winter break, the Grade 6 Girls, alongside Morah Rina Bienenfeld, hosted an amazing Shuk Tu BiSh’vat for the students at YCQ. When students arrived at the shuk, they were handed a passport, “shekalim,” and a sheet with T’hilim that had the name of a YCQ alumnus currently serving in the IDF. Students had their passports stamped and were transported to Machane Yehuda. They used their shekalim to “purchase” Israeli foods and make all the different b’rachot.
